Oak Knitting Mill was designed by famed architect Archimedes Russell and was once home to 150 employees who worked at The Oak Knitting Company during Syracuse’s heyday as a textile manufacturing center. The building has a remarkably consistent design, considering it was built in three stages in 1900, 1901 and 1911. Archimedes Russell, acclaimed for his design work in industrial buildings, theaters, and commercial buildings, left his mark on this property. This important preservation project was completed by an experienced team, a team dedicated to historic preservation and adaptive reuse of historic industrial properties.
